A CHRISTMAS CAROL - RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER

Here you are a Christmas Carol. I hope you like it. Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer is the ninth reindeer carrying the sleigh and is also Santa’s favourite.  Rudolph is known for his shiny nose which was at first an element of mockery. The nose is so bright that it can illuminate the entire sky thus allowing the sleigh to stay the course no matter what the weather is.  Visit the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYw3ue5vIuM&feature=fvsr

You know Dasher and Dancer
And Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid
And Donner and Blitzen.
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows

All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudy / Rudolph
                                 Join in any reindeer games

                                  Then one foggy Christmas Eve
                                    Santa came to say
Rudolph, with your nose so bright
Would you guide my sleigh tonight

Then how the reindeers loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudy the red-nosed reindeer
You’ll go down in history

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

How do we celebrate Christmas?

HOW DO SPANISH PEOPLE CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS?

The day of New Year’s Eve, 31st December, is celebrated in a particular way: when the clock strikes twelve, Spanish people eat one grape for each sounding of the bell that, according to the tradition, guarantees 12 months of prosperity.

It is not Santa who comes to Spain bearing gifts, but the Three Wise Men. The Spanish Christmas continues for a few weeks after Dec. 25th. On the Eve of Epiphany, January 5th, children place their shoes on the doorstep, and in the secret of the night, the Three Wise Men pass leaving gifts. January 6th, Epiphany is heralded with parades in various cities where candy and cakes are distributed to throngs of children.
The more common traditions include incredibly elaborate "Nacimiento" (nativity scenes), Christmas trees, flowers, marzipan and other sweets, candles, decorations and hand-made Christmas gifts.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
¡FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Sebastián Daganzo's (3ºA) Pet - Scrabi

My pet is a rabbit. His name is Escrabi, also called "Cotton Ball", because he is very smooth and colour white. He has long ears, which are hanging downwards. His eyes are blue like the sea. He has long hair and a very short tail.

He is very affectionate, because he gives me a lot of kisses with his tiny mouth. He likes to be stroke. He eats prepared animal food, but he likes very much carrots and its leaves. He also loves to eat hay. As all rodents do, he likes to run and jump during the night and sleep during the day.

ESSAY: DESCRIBING PETS

DESCRIBING PETS

Hello again! We have described ourselves and now I am going to introduce you my pet, a cat. I have always been very fond of cats.

I also like dogs, but cats are my favourite animal. Cats are smart, elegant, independent and can also be very friendly if people learn to respect their privacy. It’s difficult to make a cat obey your rules. They are much more rebellious than dogs.

One day I decided to buy a cat, a male cat. He was only 3 weeks old when I bought him. I decided to call him “Garfield”, also called “Suave”. Garfield is fun. He is orange and white. His eyes are blue. He has got four legs and a short tail. His ears are small. His snout (nose) is small. His neck is small too. He wears a white bow-tie.

He likes milk (He is always drinking) He uses a feeding bottle. He eats meat, salmon, and fish. He drinks and sleeps a lot. Suave can walk, run, climb the sofa (no trees), jump (when he is playing with me), and hide (when it is bath time). Suave can’t swim, fly or read.

He sleeps in a basket, his favourite place. There he sleeps with his friends, an orange and white tiger and a blue elephant. They are best friends!

What about you? Have you got a pet? Could you describe it? If you want, you can describe it and send an e-mail to              ingleslaslomas@hotmail.com

 Thanks for reading!
